Tour Itinerary

Day 01 :- Arrive Colombo

Arrive by your international flight. Please clear immigration and visa formalities, collect your baggage, and proceed to the arrival lounge through the green channel if you have no goods to declare to customs. A representative will page you by name. You will then be assisted to the car park to begin your journey according to the booked itinerary with your English-speaking chauffeur-guide.

Stay overnight in Colombo

Day 02 :- Colombo – Pinnawala – Dambulla

After breakfast, depart for Dambulla with a stop at Pinnawala.

Visit the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, established in 1975 to care for abandoned and injured elephants. The orphanage now houses over 65 elephants, including baby elephants from various regions and more than 25 calves born through the captive breeding program. The best times to visit are during feeding from 09:30-10:00 and 13:30-14:00, and bathing from 10:00-10:30 and 14:00-14:30, when the elephants are taken to the nearby river.

Continue to Dambulla and visit the Dambulla Cave Temple. Dambulla is renowned for its five cave temples, with the first three being the oldest, largest, and most significant. Some caves date back to the 1st century BCE. The walls and ceilings of all five caves are adorned with Buddhist murals, and the site contains over 130 Buddha statues, as well as statues of gods and kings.

Stay overnight in Dambulla.

Day 03 :- A Day Dambulla

After breakfast at the hotel, climb Sigiriya Rock Fortress (it is recommended to visit in the morning before the sun becomes too bright).

There are about 1200 steps to reach Sigiriya Rock Fortress

Sigiriya is home to the 5th-century "Fortress in the Sky," one of the island's most remarkable wonders. Also known as Lion Rock, it gets its name from the enormous lion statue that once guarded the entrance. The fortress, encircled by triple-moated defenses, rises almost 500 feet vertically. At its summit, you'll find the remnants of a grand palace and gardens, including a swimming pool. On one of the stairways, you'll see the only known ancient work of Sinhala secular painting: frescoes of life-sized damsels, preserved in their original vivid colors.

In the afternoon, return to the hotel and rest.

Day 04 :- Dambulla - Kandy

After breakfast leave for Kandy, a drive of about 2 hours. Proceed for Kandy. En-route visit the Matale Spice Garden.

Kandy - the hill capital, venue of the annual Perahera. The last stronghold of the Sinhala Kings was finally ceded to the British in 1815. Kandy is an example of the Buddhism's influence in Sri Lanka today. Temple's shrines and monasteries keeping alive Buddhist traditions are everywhere.

Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic - ever since 4th Century A.D, when the Buddha's Tooth was brought to Sri Lanka hidden from sacrilegious hands in an Orissan princess' hair, the Relic has grown in repute and holiness in Sri Lanka and throughout the Buddhist world. It is considered Sri Lanka's most prized possession.

Visit Gem museum, Gem shop, wood carving, batik and silk shop, etc

Visit Royal Botanical Garden in Peradeniya

No visit to Kandy is complete without seeing the Royal Botanical gardens at Peradeniya, 6.5km south from the town, on the Colombo road. Its origins go back to the reign of King Kirti Sri Rajasinha (1747-80) when it was a royal residence and park.
It formally became a botanical garden in 1821 when the redoubtable Edward Barnes was governor. The firs tea seedling garden in 1821 when the Ceylon were planted in the gardens at Barnes’ behest in 1824, although it was 50 years later that tea showed its potential as a viable commercial crop.

Attend the cultural show at the evening.

Day 05 :- Kandy - Nuwara Eliya.

After breakfast at the hotel, transfer to Ramboda.

Visit Ramboda Waterfall and Tea factory plantation on the way.

Optional - Sri Baktha Hanuman Temple

Sri Baktha Hanuman Temple, according to the ancient stories, Ramboda is a area, where the forces of Rama's gather to fight against King Ravana. This temple was built by the Chinmaya mission of Sri Lanka and dedicated to Hanuman. This temple houses for 16 feel height statue of Hanuman.

Transfer to Nuwara Eliya.

The ‘Little England’ of Sri Lanka, is set against beautiful backdrops of Mountains, Valleys, Waterfalls and Tea Plantations.  It is supposed to be one of the coldest places on the island, but is really just like an England spring day although the temperature does drop at night.All around Nuwara Eliya you will see evidence of the British influence.  Houses are like country cottages or Queen Ann style mansions.

Day 06 :- A Day in Nuwara Eliya.

After breakfast leave for Horton Plains trek base point by Jeeps from hotel. The entire Horton's Plains trek is about an 8km loop. A duration of about 3 hours, need to wear comfortable shoes and bring a thick pullover. The winds can get pretty rough in the upper region.

Return to the hotel after the trek.

Day 07 :- Nuwara Eliya - Yala

After breakfast at the hotel,

Seetha Amman Temple - The kidnapping of Sita by Ravana (was King of Lanka) - meant that Ravana had to hide Sita in several locations. The Seetha Amman temple was named after the wife, Sitadevi, of Lord Rama. The structure was built on one of the exact sites where the demon king Ravana held Sita as his captive, in the Ashoka Forests of the region. It is believed that the Lordess used the stream by the temple and meditated by the rocks along the stream.

Hakgala Botanical Garden (Ashok Vatika)

Hakgala Botanical Garden is one of the five botanical gardens in Sri Lanka. The other four are Peradeniya Botanical Garden, Henarathgoda Botanical Garden, Mirijjawila Botanical Garden and Seetawaka Botanical Garden. It is the second largest garden in Sri Lanka. The garden is contiguous to Hakgala Strict Nature Reserve. The present location of Ashok Vatika is believed to be the Hakgala Botanical Garden, in the area known as Seetha Eliya, close to the resort city of Nuwara Eliya.

Head to Yala via Ella. Briefly stop at Ella.

Demodara Nine Arches Bridge- This is one of the iconic bridges in Sri Lanka.

Proceed to Yala in the evening.

Day 08 :- Yala - Galle

Early morning with packed breakfast proceed to Yala Jeep safari.

Yala or The Ruhunu National Park covers 126,786 hectares including the Strict Natural Reserve (Block II). The most familiar is Block I (14,101 hectares) and this were established in 1938. Yala is famous for its big herds and large number of Elephants, Leopards, Spotted Deer, Sambhur, Crocodiles, Mongoose, Wild Boar, Wild Buffalo, and many other animals. More than 130 bird species are recorded which includes the resident and winter visitors.
After the safari leave for Galle. Proceed to visit the Galle Fort.

Galle Fort, in the Bay of Galle on the southwest coast of Sri Lanka, was built first in 1588 by the Portuguese, and then extensively fortified by the Dutch during the 17th century from 1649 onwards. It is a historical, archaeological and architectural heritage monument, which even after more than 423 years maintains a polished appearance, due to extensive reconstruction work done by Archaeological Department of Sri Lanka.

After the fort visit proceed for the Cooking Demonstration and Market tour which includes meeting your host. Reach home of your host where you will meet the organiser and after having a cup of tea leave for the fish market where you will find all the fresh catch of the day. Then we stop at the Green Market to buy choice of your vegetables for the cooking class. Head back to the house where you will prepare the menu of the day on your choice of vegetables you bought from the market. Have a engaging chat with your host over the dinner.

Afterwards head back to your hotel

Day 09 :- Galle -Bentota

After a leisurely breakfast leave for Bentota. Arrive and check-in at hotel, enjoy a free day today

After breakfast, enjoy Bentota city tour.

Proceed to Madu Ganga for a Boat Ride

The estuary of the Madu Ganga river is a complex coastal ecosystem of mangroves and islands. It may be one of the last remaining tracts of pristine mangrove forests in Sri Lanka.

Proceed to Kosgoda visit Turtle Hatchery which is famous for its sea turtle conservation project operated by the Wild Life Protection Society of Sri Lanka. Kosgoda turtle hatchery also has tanks for injured or disabled turtles, including albino turtles that would not survive in the wild.

Day 11 :- Bentota - Colombo

After breakfast leave for Colombo.

Enjoy a city tour of Colombo & Shopping.

A drive through the city taking you to the busy commercial areas as well as the tree-lined residential, Cinnamon Gardens.

Visit Fort, the former British administrative center and military garrison, Sea Street - the Goldsmith’s quarters in the heart of Pettah, the Bazaar area, where is also a Hindu Temple with elaborate stone carvings, and the Dutch Church of Wolfendhal dating back to 1749.

Also visit the BMICH, see the replica of Avukana Buddha, Independence Square, Galle face green and Viharamahadevi Park.

Day 12 :- Colombo Depart

After the breakfast at the hotel,
Proceed to airport for your scheduled flight. Departure with so much to remember and cherish one day.
